he Rocher Group is present all
over the world. Could you tell us
about the history of the Group in
Russia? What are your activities?
The Rocher Group in Russia is above
all the Yves Rocher brand. The Yves
Rocher brand is one of the very first
western brands that entered the
Russian market. We entered the
country in 1991 with the opening of
our flagship store on Tverskaya
Avenue, right next to Red Square and
the Kremlin.
From there, a unique history developed
with Russian consumers, who have
discovered the quality of Cosmétique
Végétale® product, which are made
in France at accessible prices for a
very large majority of consumers. We
also have a unique history with our
Russian franchise partners, who are
entrepreneurs from all over Russia
from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok, who
have believed in the potential of the
brand, as a French cosmetic brand of
family origin, and whose long-term
commitment won them over. The
women and men who started with us
in the 1990s are still there to develop
the brand and its distribution
network!
As well as the Yves Rocher brand,
the Docteur Pierre Ricaud cosmetic
brand, specialized in high-quality
anti-ageing products, has been
present there for many years with
real success, especially in the
regions of Russia.
Finally, in the last few years, the
Petit Bateau brand, which dresses
children from 0 to 99 years old(!) with
style and high quality, has developed
a network of stores, especially in
Moscow.
What are the particular expectations
of Russian female customers? What
are the brands they value the most?
The Russian market is especially
known for the high level of expecta-
tions of its customers. Russian
women are very involved in their
